Fast & Light Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Station 18 LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with Fast & Light, our fasting-tracker mobile application (the "App").

We built Fast & Light to keep your data on your device and in your own iCloud account wherever possible. We do not sell your data, we do not use third-party advertising or analytics, and we do not maintain our own servers that collect your personal health information.

Information the App Handles

Data you create (stored on your device and in your iCloud). When you use the App you may create: fasting sessions (start/end times, mode, goal, and related notes); body measurements you log; feelings and check-in entries; menstrual cycle entries you log manually; and progress photos. This information is stored locally on your device and synced through your own private Apple iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database). It is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple and is accessible only to you. We cannot see, access, or retrieve this information. Progress photos are re-encoded before storage, which removes embedded location (GPS) and other camera metadata.

Apple Health (HealthKit) data. With your permission, the App reads certain data from Apple Health to display your real measurements alongside the App's educational curves. This may include blood glucose, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body mass, blood pressure, sleep, and menstrual flow. Access is read-only — the App does not write data to Apple Health. HealthKit data is used only on your device to render comparisons and is never transmitted off your device or to us. We never use Health data for advertising or share it with third parties. You can grant or revoke this access at any time in the iOS Settings app or the Health app.

Friends and shared activity (optional). If you choose to use the social features, the App stores a profile (a display name and emoji) and your current status in a private area of CloudKit. This is shared only with people you explicitly invite or connect with, and is never made publicly readable. If you invite someone to a shared or group fast, the people you invite can see the fast's details (such as its name and join code) and participant display information. You control whether to use these features.

Anonymous live presence. The App can show how many people are fasting right now. To do this, each install writes an anonymous record to a shared (public) CloudKit database containing a random per-install identifier (not tied to your identity), your fast's start time and goal, and a "last seen" timestamp. This record contains no name, email, or other personal identifier.

Purchases. Memberships and in-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple handles your transaction in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

How We Use Information

Because your personal and health data stays on your device and in your private iCloud, we do not use it ourselves. The data the App handles is used solely to provide the App's features to you — tracking your fasts, displaying your own measurements and progress, and, if you opt in, connecting you with friends and showing anonymous community activity.

Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal or health information with third parties for their marketing. Data synced through iCloud and CloudKit is processed by Apple as part of providing iCloud services, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, but because we do not hold your personal health data, we would generally have nothing to disclose.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your logs, photos, and other entries remain in your device/iCloud storage until you delete them in the App or remove the App's data from iCloud. Deleting the App and its iCloud data removes this information. Anonymous presence records expire automatically and are not retained long-term.

Children's Privacy

Fast & Light is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Health Disclaimer

Fast & Light provides general educational information and is not medical advice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any fasting or dietary program.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
